Traditional Tuscan cottage with terracotta tiled floors and beamed ceilings, furnished in a simple, functional style, the house has two bedrooms (one double, one twin + baby bed), a large living room (where one additional person can sleep on a sofa bed), a kitchen with fireplace, and a bathroom with WC, bidet and small bath.

It offers magnificent views of the Maremma countryside as far as the sea and it's a ideal base for exploring southern Tuscany: it's at the centre of the 'golden circle', an area covering 100 km2 with countless sites of historical interest and natural beauty, and fascinating towns like Siena, Orvieto, Tarquinia, Citta' della Pieve and Pienza.
Explore the coast of Monte Argentario, the beech-woods of Monte Amiata, the beaches around Lake Bolsena, and the string of spas and hot springs that include Saturnia, San Casciano and Bagno Vignoni. Visit the 'Parco Naturale dell'Uccellina' and the 'Oasi WWF di Burano', the nature reserves of Monte Labbro and Monte Cetona, and the 'Tombolo di Feniglia'.
Then there are the 'cities of tufa' - Sorano, Pitigliano and Sovana - the medieval towns of the Val d'Orcia, and the areas that produce the famous wines of Brunello di Montalcino and Morellino di Scansano. Good olive oil is made throughout the region, and in the right season you can gather mushrooms and chestnuts.
The near village of Elmo has a bar, a post office and a grocery store. There is a small restaurant that serves local specialities 400mt down the hill.
